I have avoided descriptions using adjectives like "captivating","beautiful","mellifluous".
Reason : If these movies do not fit any of the above adjectives,they would not have made this list at all
Making a spoof on Tamil films is a sensitive issue, as our heroes and industry people are not willing to be criticized. Amudhan's satirical look at Tamil cinema was a welcome change.
Vasanthabalan's Angadi Theru, a raw, hard-hitting realistic film, pulled at your heart strings. It had enough drama and powerful characters to keep the story flowing.
Selvaraghavan's action adventure Aayirathil Oruvan was a brave attempt at trying to come out with something new in the placid world of Tamil cinema.
Lingusamy, a past master at packaged entertainment, was back with Paiyaa - a road movie laced with mass elements and extraordinary songs picturised in a stunning manner.
Gautham Menon's Vinnaithandi Varuvaya clicked big time with urban audiences. The film was backed by awe inspiring performances from the lead pair, Manoj Paramahamsa's eye-catching frames, AR Rahman's songs, great screenplay and a stunning climax

ReplyDeletewell i fell the genres in Tamil movies r getting better day by day.... recently we had madrasinpattinam and nan mahan alla... the main success behind these movies where totally a new concept... it defined logic .. the main criteria missing in most vijay movies.... hence 2010 has increased the benchmark of producing good movies.. :)

the only reason paiya became a hit is just becoz they tried showing something new like a road movie... story wise it wasnt tat gud.. second half was like some Telugu movie.... but the music definitely a blockbuster of 2010... hats of to yuvan !! :)
